This industrial-grade wireless access point is the first fruit of B&B’s October 2011 acquisition of Quatech, whose Airborne™ wireless networking devices feature WiFi connectivity technology to network-enable industrial M2M devices. B&B Electronics’ Airborne 802.11 b/g access point appears in two forms.

Designed to isolate and protect connected equipment from surges, spikes and electrostatic discharges carried on USB cable, the new one-port Ulinx™ UHR401 and two-port Ulinx UHR402 USB isolators also protect themselves by virtue of their tough construction. Unlike consumer-grade USB hubs, Ulinx hubs are built to withstand industrial networking hazards like shock, drop, vibration, electromagnetic interference (EMI) and temperature extremes. They are equipped with high retention ports that hold USB cables firmly in place to eliminate data loss, and in extreme cases, the risk for fire caused by loose cables and arcing.

October 19, 2011 - B&B Electronics Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leader in rugged connectivity solutions for wireless and wired networks, today expanded its family of industrial-grade Elinx Ethernet Extenders with models featuring built-in Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) and network management (called managed) capabilities. Using existing copper wire infrastructure (Cat5 cable or two straight wires from the telephone line) to avoid the cost and hassle of fiber or new construction, B&B Electronics’ Elinx Ethernet Extenders allow system integrator, engineering and IT groups to simply and inexpensively deploy remote security cameras, IP phones and other Ethernet devices beyond Ethernet’s 100-meter (328 ft.) limit. In addition to the distance limitation, the new PoE+ models also overcome the challenge of powering remote devices placed nowhere near a power source by providing power directly from the extended Ethernet port.

The ESW100 joins the ESW200 series which offers the same industrial-hardened certifications, but uses standard ST and SC fiber connectors. Unmanaged Ethernet switches allow network managers to connect additional Ethernet devices and route data to each specific device, controlling network traffic.

April 27, 2011 - B&B Electronics Manufacturing Co., Inc., a leader in rugged wireless connectivity and communication solutions, today announced its indoor/outdoorGhostBridge Wireless Ethernet Bridge. With aline-of-sight range of up to 15km, the 5 GHz GhostBridge creates a transparent, secure, high-speed (up to 150Mbps), point-to-point link between two remote devices or networks, eliminating up to 15km of expensive and damage-prone wiring. Sold in pre-configured pairs, the GhostBridge requires no further configuration or software setup; simply mount them, plug them into the network using the included PoE adapters, and then use the LED indicators to align them. A PoE pass-through Ethernet port also allows users to connect remote devices (IP camera, or other) to a LAN.
